Our Coaches

Amy

Amy Skidmore is a former SCA heavy fighter from Anesteorra, trading her rattan for a saber and her old job for an Electrical Engineering Degree at NMU. She is terrible at rapier, awful at Meyer longsword, barely acceptable with military and dueling saber, and has even been spotted with both foam LARP swords and TSL lightsabers. While only being active in HEMA for three years, she has several competitions in her history, and has volunteered with organizations like Marquette Fringe, the Northwestern Great Lakes Girl Scout council, the Peter White Public Library, and Iron Golem Games.

Emma

Emma is currently a grad student studying Physics at Michigan Technical University. When not trying to uncover the Forbidden Unkown, she is probably rolling dice, or making music. After playing one too many role playing games, Emma decided that she should learn how to swing a sword for real and picked up rapier with the Falcon’s Gate SCA Club at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. Now, Emma helps teach rapier at Ninth House, while occasionally dabbling in Knives.

Evangeline

Eva has been practicing HEMA for two years now, and specializes in German Longsword and Italian Saber. She primarily teaches Saber from the manuals of Luigi Barbesetti, as well as Meyer Longsword. She can usually be found either hunting for caffeine, or messing around with odd weapons or climbing on rare airplanes. Eva has visited HEMA clubs all over the country, getting thoroughly beat up at clubs from Detroit, all the way to New Orleans.
